Portal products will need to reinvent themselves if they are going to adapt to changes in the corporate software stack. One way to achieve this is for portal vendors [and IT groups that are responsible for them] to start utilizing Web-services tools and systems now. This will provide a wealth of information leading to some starteling conclusions and maybe a few innovative value propositions.
